Summary:
Watertown public schools is seeking a committited High School Junior Custodian to perform work primarily at Watertown High School- Moxley, under the direction of the Senior Custodian, Principal and the Director of Public Buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains, cleans, and keeps orderly and sanitary the interior and exterior of the building and its property and grounds.
- These duties include, but are not limited to: performing custodial tasks such as dusting, washing glass and other surfaces, vacuuming, stripping and waxing floors, shampooing carpets, and other general cleaning tasks in classrooms, bathrooms, offices, cafeteria, gymnasiums, stairwells, hallways and other spaces within the building and its exterior. Responsible for removal of building rubbish, snow removal, and sidewalk clearing.
- Required to perform repairs, light maintenance, and preventative maintenance on buildings, building systems, furniture, and equipment as needed. Submits and reports it through the work order system.
- Moves furniture and school supplies as needed and must respond quickly to any facility emergencies, sanitary needs, or Principal requirements.
- Attends training and administrative meetings as necessary.
- Communicates with the Senior Custodian and Director of Public Buildings or designated representative through meetings, emails, the computer work order system, and phone/text daily.
- Works cooperatively with teachers and staff to protect the school property and ensure general safety.
- Promptly reports any damage of school property or malfunction of maintenance systems (HVAC, lighting, plumbing) to the Senior Custodian or the Director of Public Buildings by using the procedures established for the Department and School.
- Supports the needs of the School District and Town and volunteers at other buildings throughout.
- Perform other duties as designated by the building Principal and the Director of Public Buildings.

All work must be done with pride and in a professional manner at all times. Must be able to problem solve, work independently, and work cooperatively as a team member.
Qualifications - Required
- High school diploma
- Must have a valid D-class driver’s license
- Ability to use email and work order system (on a computer) and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Maximum lifting requirement is 45 pounds.
