Position: School Counseling Practicum Student (Spring 2024)

Summary:

How to get connected with a campus to secure a practicum/student teacher placement in WPS:

• If you are seeking placement in WPS reach out to human_resources@watertown.k12.ma.us to get connected with a campus principal to get placed with a cooperating teacher. 

Responsibilities:

• Is under the general direction of a certified school counslelor or principal, providing small group interventions and delivering school counseling curriculum
• Is involved with understanding and delivery of student individualized education programs
• May attend parent conferences and faculty meetings
• Is an active participant in the school community
• Communicate clearly and effectively with your cooperating supervisor
• Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the student

Qualifications:

• Is currently enrolled in a college/university program leading to educational licensure and/or additional credentialing in education.
• Complete the full checklist and clearance process from Human Resources
