General Description:
The Director of the Summer Success Program will be responsible for analyzing student data to develop groupings, completing registrations for all summer students, and tracking data to ensure compliance with Title I and III requirements. Key duties include managing attendance, facilitating ongoing parent communication, and being on-site daily during all sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Attend summer program planning meetings and collaborate with other summer program leadership
- Analyze data to identify and develop student groupings
- Complete registration for all summer students
- Recommend teachers to be hired
- Onboard and orient all summer teachers
- Serve as primary point of contact for caregivers and educators during registration and throughout the program
- Order and maintain summer program supplies
- Track data to meet Title I + III requirements
- Attendance
- Pre and post academic assessments
- Parent Communication- ongoing throughout summer
- On-Site during all the sessions, daily
- Managing substitutes-teacher absences
- Managing building based needs (safety, scheduling, etc)
- Prepare and hold pre-program training and weekly faculty meetings
- Analyze end of program data
- Provide an end of program report
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- A current Massachusetts Elementary Teaching License/Certification
- Experience working with elementary-grade students.
- Experience teaching ELs and modifying curriculum to meet all learner's needs
- Familiarity with best practices in balanced literacy instruction, and is confident modeling instruction when needed
- Holds the belief that all children can learn to read and write effectively.
- Familiar with the elementary math curriculum in order to help coordinate math tutors
Preferred:
- Certification in Educational Administration preferred
- Three or more successful years of experience in administration preferred
- Additional certification/experience in coaching, reading, or literacy, preferred
