Location: Hosmer Elementary School/WHS at Moxley
Reports to: ESY Coordinators
Dates: July 7, 2025 - August 7, 2025
Salary range: $47.00/hour
General Description:
The Extended School Year (ESY) offers specialized instruction and related services to students beyond the regular school year. Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding Instructional Assistant to support students with disabilities in accessing their education for the Extended School Year Summer Program. In your letter of interest, please indicate which level/program you prefer. We have availability in the Connections, ISP, and Learning Support programs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead/Coordinate programming
- Supervise small-group literacy and math classes
- Supervise sub-separate programming
- Supervise related IEP goals and accommodations
- Manage parent concerns and communication
- Supervise and manage any behavioral concerns
- Monitor staff attendance and coordinate coverage
- Manage timesheets
- Supervise progress monitoring and reporting
- Coordinate program development with district administrators
Required Knowledge:
- Experience working with special education students
- Experience collaborating with colleagues
- Experience reading IEPs and delivering services
- Effective communication skills
- Familiarity with best practices in teaching special education students
- Holds the belief that all children can learn
- Classroom management
Preferred:
- CPR/First Aid Certification
