Position: Extended School Year (ESY) Secondary Teacher (Summer 2024)

Location: Watertown High School 

Dates: July 1, 2024 - August 8, 2024 (Mondays - Thursdays) 

June 27th - Staff Preparation date

Number of Positions: 8

Compensation:
$42.00/hour: Teachers

$34.00/hour: Unlicensed Teacher

 

Secondary:

  • Connections (Sub-Separate) Teachers - Secondary - 8:00 AM-12:00 PM, Monday-Thursday
  • Secondary Small Group (Reading/Math) Instructors - 7:45 AM-12:15 PM, Monday-Thursday
  • Learning Support (Sub-Separate)Teachers - Secondary - 8:00 AM-12:00 PM, Monday-Thursday
  • ISP (Sub-Separate) Teachers – Secondary - 8:00 AM-12:00 PM, Monday-Thursday

Responsibilities:

  • Teach groupings of special education students in grades 6-12 
  • Conduct whole group and/or small group literacy lessons
  • Conduct whole groups and/or small group Math lessons
  • Follow related IEP Goals and Accommodations
  • Teach age-related social skills and functional behavior
  • Teaching is focused on the prevention of skill regression
  • Progress monitoring and reporting

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Experience working with elementary and/or secondary preferred
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues  
  • Experience reading IEPs
  • Familiarity with best practices in literacy and math instruction
  • Holds the belief that all children can learn 
  • Classroom management
  • Attend pre-program training

Teacher Qualifications:

  • Preferred DESE Licensure
