Position: Human Resources Associate - Benefits, Leave, and HRIS

Salary range: $72,000-$77,000/Annually
General Description:
The Human Resource Associate completes a variety of tasks that support the daily operations of the Human Resources department to process various leave types (FMLA, medical, etc.), maintains personnel and medical records, and ensures accurate attendance reporting in Frontline. The Associate also serves as a benefits liaison for the District.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all types of leaves of absence (FMLA, discretionary, medical, career exploration, worker’s compensation, etc.)
- Maintain office files and records, including personnel records, medical files and related documents;
- Manages attendance reporting and ensures that attendance-related information is accurately entered into Frontline for compliance and verification;
- Maintain WPS Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) such as PowerSchool Suite (TalentEd, Records, Perform) and MUNIS
- Assist the Director with preparing for Annual contracts and letters for all staff members;
- Assist the Director with processing incident/accident reports and worker’s compensation reporting;
- Assist with processing all contractual stipends;
- Create vacation/time off calendars to ensure departmental coverage. (non-aligned)
- Assist employees with requests and questions;
- Serve as a benefits liaison, assisting employees with understanding and navigating their benefits options;
- Assist with special projects and conduct necessary research as needed;
- Accurate data entry required; and
- Completes other HR duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in human resources or a related field
- High skill level in Microsoft Word, Google Suite, and Excel
- Experience with Absentee Management, Applicant Tracking, Gmail, and PowerSchool or similar HRIS systems
- Ability to read and extract data from various systems to support HR operations
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively and professionally with various stakeholders (employees, parents, city officials, community members)
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage them effectively
- Must maintain confidentiality at all times
- Ability to work both cooperatively and independently
- Must be detail-oriented and organized
