Position: Summer 2025 School Nutrition Worker
Location: Hosmer Elementary School [must be willing to travel to any schools within the district, depending on program needs]
Dates: June 30th, 2025 - August 15th, 2025 [Program start and end dates are subject to change]
Hours: 7:15 AM - 1:15 PM [Hours may vary slightly but will be no less than 6 hours per day]
Number of Positions: 3
Compensation: $24 per hour
Reports to: Summer Food Service Program Manager
Job Description:
The Watertown School Nutrition Department will be operating the Summer Food Services Program. The goal of the program is to provide nutritious meals to students enrolled in our WPS Summer Learning & Connection Programs. This position is required to work the duration of the Summer Program; as needed. Mandatory training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Serving and accounting for meals given to children
- Assists with record keeping.
- Ensures the health and safety of students and personnel by instructions in adherence to The Massachusetts Sanitary Code.
- Maintaining a clean site.
- Prepare hot and cold food and set up for service
- Other tasks assigned by the supervisor to ensure a seamless summer program
- All individuals hired are required to attend a mandatory training session.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependability/good attendance
- Basic math skills
- Prior experience in quantity food production is preferred
- Must be able to perform all of job functions requiring the following physical demands: reaching, bending, stooping, and frequently lifting/carrying 30-50 pounds.
