Position: Summer Reading Intervention Teacher
Dates: Monday - Thursday, July 7, 2025 - July 31, 2025 (4 days a week for a month)
Location: Hosmer School
Rate of Pay: $35.00 per hour
Hours: 8:00-12:00 pm includes 30 min of prep a day
Additional days: 1 “day” (4hrs) one 1-hour orientation and includes program set up/clean up time.
Additional paid time: There may be an additional weekly 30-minute faculty meeting at the discretion of the Director.

The responsibilities may include:
Teach grouping of students in grades K-5. (Small groupings students)
- Use responsive classroom management strategies to co-teach morning meeting
- Conduct small group literacy lessons using Fundations and Heggerty materials
- Provide targeted differentiated reading instruction using data to drive lessons
- Gather progress monitoring data using DIBELS measures
- Create an end of summer progress report for families
- Encourage a love of reading and talking about books
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Experience working with elementary students.
- Experience collaborating with colleagues
- Familiarity with best practices in evidence-based structured literacy instruction
- Holds the belief that all children can learn and learn to read and write effectively
- Familiarity with Responsive Classroom practices, language, and beliefs
- Attend pre-program training and weekly faculty meetings.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A current Massachusetts Teaching License/Certification
Three or more successful years of experience teaching students in literacy, preferred
