Position: Summer 2024 School Nutrition Manager

Location: Hosmer Elementary School [must be willing to travel to any schools within the district, depending on program needs]

Dates: July 1, 2024 - August 16th, 2024 [Program start and end dates are subject to change]

Hours: 7:00 AM - 1:30 PM [Hours may vary slightly but will be no less than 6 hours per day]

Number of Positions: 1

Compensation: Current school nutrition managers will be paid $2.00 more than their normal hourly rate. [$24.89- $26.44]

 

Reports to: Director of School Nutrition

 

Job Description: 

The Watertown School Nutrition Department will be operating the Summer Food Services Program. The goal of the program is to provide nutritious meals to students enrolled in our WPS Summer Learning & Connection Programs. This position is required to work the duration of the Summer Program; as needed. Mandatory training will be provided.

 

Responsibilities: 

Ensures that site personnel maintain accurate records and that the program

operates in accordance with the Federal and State requirements pertaining to the Summer Food Service Program Regulations.

• Supervises and participates in food preparation and service in order to maintain high standards of food flavor and appearance.
• Orders food and supplies in accordance with menu and volume requirements.
• Verifies deliveries and safeguards storage of food and supplies.
• Ensures the health and safety of students and personnel by instructions in adherence to the Massachusetts Sanitary Code.
• Accounts for meals served, leftovers and adjusts quantities accordingly to minimize waste
• Completes daily and weekly paperwork accurately

 

Qualifications Required:

• Food Safety or Food Handler Certification
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must have good math skills
• Dependable, available for the duration of the Summer Programming
• Must be willing to travel to other sites in Watertown 
• Must have good attendance and evaluations

Preferred:

• Supervisory experience
• Prior school food service experience
• Knowledge of school meals regulations
